Semen Is a Good Indicator of Your Health
You can assess the state of your health by checking the smell and color of your semen, because the latter serves as an excellent indicator of various health problems.

Besides sperm, semen is made up of 65 per cent of fluid from the seminal vesicles, 30 to 35 per cent from the prostate and 5 per cent from the vasa. It contains citric acid, free amino acids, fructose, enzymes, phosphorylcholine, prostaglandin, potassium, and zinc. The amount of semen produced varies from a few drops to about 6 millilitres.
Watch carefully if your semen changes. This can save us many a problem and prevent an infection from spreading too much. Semen is one of the best indicators of your health there are. Normal semen has a cloudy white color. Chlorine-like smell is normal, while the taste should be slightly sweet due to fructose, but this differs from person to person.

In case of abnormal semen, we can quickly determine whether something is wrong. If during
ejaculation you experience an absence of semen, or if there is an unsual decrease in semen, we can suspect that the bladder is blocked.
Watery semen is usually a sign of retrograde ejaculation in which the ejaculate goes backwards into the bladder. This is not dangerous, but abnormal liquefaction of semen may also be caused by prostate abnormalities, such as
prostatitis.

In certain cases when semen has an unusual color, it is recommended that you also consult your personal physician:
- If semen is red or brown: in that case, the problem may be caused by blood for various reasons (infection, trauma and sometimes, but rarely, cancer). In a day or two the semen should get its natural color back. If that is not the case, see your doctor immediately.
- If semen is yellowish or green: semen normally has an off-white or yellow hint. If it has an uncharacteristically yellow or greenish color, this is usually a sign of infection. Mostly, this is the result of a sexually transmitted disease –
gonorrhea (the clap), so in such a case see you personal pysician. Gonorrhea can be treated with antibiotics.
Also, foul smell of semen is nearly always a sign of infection. Therefore, pay attention to the look and smell of your semen. Both can also show you how good you are at inseminating!
