Alternative Ways to Relieve Menstrual Pain
Alternative Ways to Relieve Menstrual Pain
Here is some valuable practical advice: we present alternative ways to relieve the pain experienced by every woman during the period. Help yourself!

You don’t always need to take pills to relieve menstrual pain. There are alternative ways to alleviate it. (jlp)
Positive thinking
You may actually believe your genitals are sinful and dirty. If this mental pattern hides somewhere deep inside you, you can help yourself with
positive affirmations to change it: “I accept my feminine power and physical processes as something normal and natural. I love my every period. I approve of myself.”
Aromatherapy
For hot compresses and a massage, you can use the
ethereal oils of camomile, clary sage, marjoram, lavender and jasmine. Mix four drops of any ethereal oil with 10 ml of basic oil (the best are almond or baby oil).

Have you ever tried to ease menstrual pain with aromatherapy? (jlp)
Massage
1. Lie on your side. With one hand, your partner massages your lower back using circular movements in a counterclockwise direction, while he gently places the other hand on your belly.
2. Lie on your back and swing rhythmically your hips from one side to the other.
Self-massage
Heat your palms by rubbing them against each other. With your thumb, press the area between the first and second toe, where the bones are joined in the instep. Hold for at least 10 seconds up to 2 minutes and then make a few circular movements. Repeat the procedure, now in the area four fingers (ca. 5 cm/2 inches) above the bone on the inner side of the instep, just above the tibia.
Crystals
One of the alternative ways to alleviate menstrual pain is also to help yourself with crystals. The functioning of the root chakra and sexual chakras is adjusted by the crystals of red and orange colors, e.g. garnet and orange calcite. If you have painful periods, malachite, which is a green stone, is particularly recommended.
Use a small stone. Place it on you abdomen and relax with the help of some meditative music. It’s best if you put it in the front pocket of your trousers or in the pocket of your shirt so that it’s near the painful area all the time.

Self-massage can also be an effective way to face your menstrual pain. (jlp)
The most important advice we can give is to accept your periods as part of your womanhood. A friend of mine followed this advice and found that it works. Nevertheless, she still has to drink “salty tea” now and then.
And the most men can do for their women is not to be afraid of menstruation, but to embrace it as something that they “both have”.
